SOLARKIT. SOLAR DECATHLON 2010

DESCRIPTION

Solarkit was the sustainable project presented by University of Seville for the competition Solar Decathlon Europe 2010, first time in Madrid (Spain).

Solarkit is a demountable, self-sufficient, low-cost house. Its innovative architecture provides all the amenities of a permanent house, while featuring a removable system whose modular, lightweight components are both functional and flexible.

Solarkit is a self-sufficient house system (it produces three times the energy it consumes) which adapts to urban as well as rural locations. It can be implanted as a new construction, or as an extension of pre-existing structures in all sorts of territorial contexts.

Sponsor: Junta de Andalucia, Spanish Ministry of Housing, Government of Spain. EMVISESA.

  • SOLAR AWARD 2010. Eurosolar, 2010.
