The house is located in a rectangular site at a corner between buildings in Barbate, Cádiz (Spain). The distribution is centralized in the sculptural staircase that is also the sculptor element of the house. It is a cube volume broken by the courtyard, recalling the mediterranean culture of the Patio. The house uses the color and materials of traditional architecture in Southern Spain, but in a contemporary way. Facades have few fenestrations that create balconies using the ‘ostionera’ stone traditional from this region while the interior courtyard brings all the light to rooms.
