2000 TERAS. EUROPAN 10

DESCRIPTION

Can an Urban Planning balance production and consumption, in other words, be sustainable itself?

The project develops a new way of making cities through energy production, in a sustainable way. 2000 TERAS is the amount of energy that our proposal is capable of saving per year, compared to  traditional Urban Planning. The process is a combination of the production of energy from Biomass, reduction of the necessity of consumption through the use of Greenhouses and the reduction of ecological footprint by productive fabric.

The buildable area in our project is not based on traditional urban parameters but instead it is based on Productive Fabric. Based on parametric ratios between plot sizes and area of vegetable gardens within each case, the number of stories for each of the units are calculated.

This project was the result of our proposal for EUROPAN 10 International competition.
